Rearming the Music — and Memories — of Bionic Commando
Of all the features in Bionic Commando: Rearmed, other than its fundamental game play, nothing bridges 1988 to 2008 like the game’s soundtrack. Simon Viklund, of Stockholm-based developer Grin, did more than personally oversee the soundtrack as the game’s creative director. He composed it himself.

Into the Score - Episode 22: "Symphony of the Colossus"
This month in "Into the Score", we chronicle Ko Otani's moving and emotional score to Sony's "Shadow of the Colossus" for the PlayStation 2. In the episode, we look at it's quasi-sequel "Ico" as well as the origins of the symphony, with the Baroque Era in particular!

Emotionally, this episode tries to unravel how the music fits into the game; but also, how the absence of music fits in as well. We look at the sparseness of the environment and the grandeur of each colossus - don't miss it!

There's a significant amount of crossover between Irish traditional music and videogame soundtracks. Some game composers cite Celtic musicians and musical groups as direct influences on their styles, for one. Their videogame soundtracks occasionally actually go so far as to feature performances by world-class Irish musicians.

Will Singing Mountain be one of the “new” dungeons in Chrono Trigger DS?
An early version of Chrono Trigger had an area in 65,000,000 B.C. with outdoor waterfalls and indoor lavafalls. Singing Mountain was not in the final game, but it looks fairly complete. The official Chrono Trigger soundtrack even had a unique song for the level in addition to an unused battle theme.
