Castlevania Best Music Collections Box (Disc 10-18) sample tracks online
Konamistyle has uploaded sample tracks from the upcoming 18-CD box set of Castlevania game series music. Numerous samples in asx format from NES, Wii, PSP and DS titles can be found on the official site. Also online are samples of nine newly arranged tracks by Symphony of the Night composer Michiru Yamane.

Danny B's Steambirds and Gravity Hook HD soundtracks now on Bandcamp
Super Meat Boy and Canabalt composer Danny B. has made two additional game scores available for streaming on Bandcamp. The full soundtracks to Steambirds and Gravity Hook HD can be heard on the DB Soundworks page, or downloaded for as low as $1 each.

Flower receives GANG Award for Best Interactive Score
Last night at the Game Audio Network Guild Awards, Flower was given the top honors for interactive score. Accepting the award was composer Vincent Diamante, who will be presenting on the audio for ThatGameCompany's downloadable Playstation Network title later today.

Laura Shigihara wins GANG award for "Plants Vs. Zombies"
Tonight at the Game Audio Network Guild awards ceremony, Laura Shigihara received the award for Best Original Vocal – Pop for "Plants vs. Zombies," which she composed and sang both in English and Japanese.

Kuniaki Haishima composing Metroid: Other M score
Siliconera has word that Metroid: Other M will be scored by a musician that has not previously composed for the series. Kuniaki Haishima, perhaps best known for the music to Siren 2, will be writing the soundtrack to the upcoming Wii title.

Participants included Tom Salta (GRAW, Red Steel) Laura Karpman (Untold Legends, Everquest), Marty O'Donnell (Halo series), Jason Hayes (Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft), and Chance Thomas (Avatar game, Lord of the Rings Online).

Uncharted 2 wins big at Game Developers Choice Awards
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves received a total of five awards at the Game Developers Choice event last night at the Game Developers Conference. The game was recognized for writing, visuals, technology, audio and Game of the Year.

Proto Man's "secret" music theme in Mega Man 3
Mega Man 3 is arriving on the Playstation Network in Japan, a reminder of the NES game's Easter Eggs. Holding down certain buttons on controller 2 froze enemies and enabled super jumping. Holding up and A during the end credits triggers Proto Man's full musical theme.

Ghost Trick receives Japan release date, new trailers
Capcom's forthcoming Nintendo DS title Ghost Trick is designed by Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series' Shuu Takumi. Several new trailers and a playable demo have appeared online in preparation for the June 24 release in Japan.

Monkey Island 2: Special Edition confirmed for XBLA
Lucasarts, via their Twitter feed, have announced that Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade with a new Special Edition. The original game is also headed to the PlayStation Network.

Ridge Racers soundtrack album now on iTunes
Namco Sounds has uploaded their latest Namco Bandai Games soundtrack to iTunes. The 34 track soundtrack album for PSP title Ridge Racers is now available to download for $12. The album contains music by Hiroshi Okubo, Keiki Kobayashi, Shinji Hosoe, Ayako Sasao, Takayuki Aihara, Nobuyoshi Sano and other composers.

Monster Hunter Danceable promotional movie
Japanese news site 4Gamer has embedded a promotional movie for Capcom's dance music remix album titled "Monster Hunter Danceable." Samples include "Lioleus Fly High," "Where is a Ninja," and "One Day, Before the Last Battle," set to scenes from Monster Hunter Tri. The CD is due out on store shelves in Japan on March 24.

Acquire looking to license Way of the Samurai 4
Siliconera has word that Acquire is looking for a Western publisher for the as-of-yet unannounced Way of the Samurai 4. Way of the Samurai 3 was distributed by UFO Interactive and Agetec. The music composer for the series is Noriyuki Asakura of the Tenchu game series.

Power Gig: a music game with real guitars
PowerGig: Rise of the SixString, published by Seven45 Studios, will be demoed on the Game Developers Conference show floor this week. It’s scheduled to be released this fall on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Chris Kohler of Wired got an advance look at the game and the guitar peripheral, which looks like a cross between a Rock Band plastic axe and an inexpensive real one.
