Tyr

I regard myself as a modern day bard (poet/musician) and seeker of truth. I am currently planning to achieve a doctorate in Psychobiology or Neurophilosophy though that is some years away. My ancestry is half Irish and half Norwegian and I celebrate both streams of culture and tradition in my artistic endeavors. I've been told that I think "sideways."

The aim of life is self-development. To realize one's nature perfectly - that is what each of us is here for. -Oscar Wilde

Uncanny Valley Concept
Interesting take on how "normal" humans react to subhuman/ill humans and how they might react to transhumans or H+.

Researchers Demonstrate Quantum Teleportation and Memory in Tandem
In research that may be a key step toward real-life quantum communication—the transmission of information using atoms, photons, or other quantum objects—researchers created an experiment in which a quantum bit of information is transported across a distance of seven meters and briefly stored in memory. This is the first time that both quantum memory and teleportation, as the information transfer is known, have been demonstrated in a single experiment.

[Discussion] Profile surfing
Would it be possible to enable voting on articles from a person's profile? Otherwise it can take awhile to troll through old posts to find the correct article or discussion. Also, it would be nice if number of comments were shown correctly.

It would also be nice but not that important if when you attempt to post a duplicate of an article that a link to the original article is provided. Sometimes titles don't match and in a few months it will be much harder to search let alone a few years.

Aaron the cybernetic artist
Sure its fluff but its fun. It is an interesting question to ponder though...What will be art to a vastly superior intelligence human or otherwise?

Lead linked to Aging in Older Brains
Hmm...It would be nice if someone could find a way to remove lead from the body to minimize the damage and prevent placental transference.

Single nanotube makes world's smallest radio
A big step in creating nanobots that could communicate with each other amongst the many other applications. Just have to avoid the pitfalls in Prey and Stargate:)

Culture effects the way we use our brain
I've researched this topic before but from the perspective of AI it just occurred to me that culture could effect how a AI develops and uses its intellect. Would a Chinese AI behave differently than a Norwegian AI?

Chemistry breakthrough
Now we have the ability to create new proteins...efficiently and effectively which should cheapen molecular manufacturing. Combine this with the other breakthrough allowing control of molecular pathways and you have something truly amazing in my humble opinion.
